Well i have an update on both Leo Vince and my idea of getting a decat made in the UK with similar properties to that of the Leo. I spoke to a guy I know at motogb yesterday. It seems some of this is partially correct and there was in fact problems at the Leo Vince plant in Poland, all Union related wouold you believe, typical. anyway that is apparently now sorted but for production to ramp up again its unlikely you'll see any more stock until the new year (jan/feb) but im assured it will be coming. I also spoke to my bloke at JAC yesterday and he wants me to drop the bike round so he can look at it, somebody had indeed taken one to him before but that was to actually gut the existing cat (why on earth). I'll get on to this pretty soon but it will be a week or so and also weather dependent. IMO I cant see it being a problem for him as this is what hes done for a living for years and years although you never know on cost until the job is in hand. Obviously if its more than the Leo people may as well wait but Id of thought he'll be more than competitive.
This sounds interesting.....especially if it has baffles in it so the stock end can may be used. You might get a few from Australia interested....
Well we'll see what he says I guess. you see I actually want my bike to sound pretty loud but not throaty, more deep like a ducati should be. I've never heard a multi with a decat and slip on before in the flesh and youtube videos aren't really good enough
I don't think the 11ยบ engine will ever sound like a Ducati should. It's down to the cam timing with not enough overlap to get that deep boom and rumble on the overrun.
Update- Well, when I came to fit the pipe we had a problem as the end of the pipe had been slightly damaged, once that was sorted it went on ok with a bit of gentle persuasion. I have got to say that the quality is pretty impressive and the guys who repaired/fettled the damaged end ( they make race car chassis) where equally impressed. The problem I now have is that the Mivv end can I have doesn't fit ( it seems to be for their decat pipe) and running it with the standard can is just way too bloody loud, so back to square one!. I will wait and see if I can pick up a slip on end can with some sort of baffling in, in the meantime back to standard.
