It was probably me on the DSC who recommended Bodykit Barry, great stuff very well made plus he took lots of advice and measurements from my 998 at the time to get the RS fairings to fit a road bike, lives about 10 miles away from me so very convenient. The only downside is he's not a businessman and doesn't pro-actively get kits for new bikes to take moulds from so I'd ave no idea if he has 999/1098/1199 kits he certainly didn't when I had my 999.
that makes sense, i mentioned barry orig poster was after 748 fairings and the 998 should fit i have not found a chinese fairing company who will assure me their fairings fit the slab sided 998 (all the pictures tat claim to be 998 compatible on ebay are 916/996 style with the cutouts)
I can vouch for the SuperbikeBodywork fairings, bought a set for my 748 for trackdays and they are really well made with an excellent colour impregnated finish, no painting required, numberboards moulded in. Cant fault them.
Loads of help and choice there guys - thanks - will come back with whatever I decide and post up pics !
I'm thinking about buying a set from China on eBay, can anyone recommend a specific eBay seller that they've used and were happy with?
[email protected] This chap has a very good rep on Ducati MS. My Chinese fairings.. the story so far - 748 - Ducati.ms - The Ultimate Ducati Forum Not sure he (still) sells on ebay though, I did have an e-mail exchange with him during my build, but he didn't do the belly pan set.
I've had 3 or 4 sets of 1098 fairings from Ricambi Weiss and they're great for track and racing. Quality is OKish, but the main thing is, they're cheap. About 160 euro for the body and 85 euro for the tail. As said earlier, they are a lot thinner than the OEM plastics and being fiber glass, quite brittle. They come in white ready to paint and although the holes are marked for fittings, you have to drill them yourself. I've also had a set from QB Carbon (fiber glass), thicker than the Ricambi set and red gel coated. These also come ready drilled so a bit more 'plug and play' but at about twice the cost.
make sure they put 'ducati on the seat and NOT FECKING HONDA!....like my 748...lol nice paint job tho.
