Took much haggis intake methinks. I'm a svelte 11 1/2 stone. The standard spring fitted on the 848 as far as I know on the Showa rear shock is a 90nm ( measurement of the springs stiffness) so I have reduced to an 80nm. One of the problems I have found looking on the internet to get information is that nearly all of the recommended springs talked about are for use on a racetrack which is not a lot of use for us road riders. You need to do some fundemental measurements first to determine what spring would suit you best. Static sag setup. Rider sag setup. Put a cable tie around the shaft of the rear shock to see how much of the range of the shock is being used. well worth a read -easy to understand as well! you will be fine. forgot to mention wife dont go on the back of the 848, she hasn't found the pegs hidden under the stairs yet.
Turn the light on under there for her then. I can understand keeping the wife under the stairs but bike parts should be kept in the garage.
yip, since getting one of these our lives have been transformed. we even have the television and wireless now. it;s amazing. how they get all those voices and pictures in them little boxes i dont know.
I looked at my chicken strips and it makes me look a right pussy. I used to race and do a few track days previous, so I am not normally a stranger to getting to the edge of the tyre. But heres my excuses so far (to help me sleep on a night) 1. Never had a bike this style before, although after a week through France / Switzerland and Germany I thought I was leaning over quite well, so checked when stopped and was disappointed with the results! 2. I put on some Bridgestones sports / touring tyres and am used to using race scrubs either on the track or on the road, so I have no idea how good a road based sports touring tyre is. Must do better I think! David
Go and sit in the corner and write out 59 times: I have a small willy And wear a hat. With a big W on it for willy.
I'm finding these PR4's are more difficult to edge out than the Scorps or Roadsmarts previously fitted - guessing it's a profile thing, rather than me getting old and slow?
