Great photos - thanks for the write up! Makes a refreshing change from the various Scottish, Welsh and Alpine trips normally reported on the forum (not that there's anything wrong with those). Road surfaces looked better than I'd imagined, as did at least some of the food (although I'm not sure I could cope with quite that much red chili!)
Lunch stop at a vegetarian restaurants in the middle of the mountains durin the Pinggu Ride (post #19)...

Relaxed afternoon run to explore a remote Great Wall of China section between Simatei and Jinshaling near the Hebei province border.
Wow - what a great trip and fantastic pics. The food pics are making me hungry already. I've been to Beijing and the Great Wall, Henan and thro the Shaolin Valley. Not on my Multi though, unfortunately. Not sure I would fancy filtering through the city traffic either but the countryside would be great riding and the locals are brill. Thanks for the write up.
Looks like you're having a great experience over there! Some great roads for a Multi and surprisingly quiet. I don't suppose there are too many PP's or Multis out there. Enjoy the ride.
Quick break and snack stop along the Black Dragon Pool Road in the mountains North of Beijing, pair of lizards perform a little sideshow.
Rolling back to Beijing, my second puncture right on the expressway, must have driven over a lane divider reflector or reflector bolt mounted into the asphalt as the hole was a perfect round, shaped like a bullet hole. Had to use two sticky ropes to seal the puncture perfectly and secure. Now the real danger was standing in the right lane (emergency lane), in China crazy drivers use the emergency lane as a regular driving lane all the time..... TIC = This Is China!
Heading back to Beijing checking out a new bike shop, all tarted up and fully farkled Chang-Jiang 750 sidecar (China 1938 BMW R71 copy) on display....
