Heading out to the seaside out at Nanhui district / Pudong (Shanghai / China) to test the newly installed Ohlins Suspension Control Unit (SCU) Stop at Dishui Lake and the new Shanghai Maritime Museum and just down the road one of the concrete aircraft carriers we have in the Shanghai region. Do you have any idea what the concrete aircraft carriers are about? Do they serve any actual purpose? China is in the throes of trying to get real aircraft carriers into operation, which is a hugely complicated technical feat - is it anything to do with that?
The two concrete aircraft carriers in Shanghai municipality are located in Qingpu district (Shanghai) and Nanhui district (Pudong) and both are open to the public (fees apply) to walk on and around and have a museum, restaurants and shops and some entertainment venues inside and on the deck, around the area. Oriental Park Shanghai (6888 Huqingping Road, Qingpu, RMB50 entrance fee) and its National Defense Park near Shanghai. Part water-park, part replica-U.S.-aircraft-carrier-housing-a Chinese-military-museum (pictured above), Oriental Park is an interesting place in Qingpu district (Shanghai). The carrier there not only houses a Chinese military museum with an American SR-71 Blackbird aircraft replica hanging from the ceiling, but also a water ride, old Russian MiG fighters on its flight deck and a smashing view of the surrounding countryside.

Autumn bike run to Nanjing (Jiangsu) for a few business meetings and catching up with mates. Crossing China province borders and a Jiangsu province... Jiangsu province road-side restaurant "you kill it ~ we grill it" style with various meats on display including man's best friend beside national road #318.....
Beside national road #104 between Huzhou - Nanjing several areas displaying and selling rather large stone sculptures....
