China ADV Cruising (MTS1200S-PP)

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by TBR, Aug 16, 2013.

  1. Leaving Hangzhou, taking China #104 National Road to meet up with mates at the Moganshan Lodge: Moganshan Lodge for a group ride back to Shanghai.
This time of the year (autumn), the twisty mountain roads become a bit more dangerous and challenging due to the bamboo cutting and processing.
Stacks of bamboo along the road side and the small and large trucks with bamboo poles sticking out the back.

  6. Missed this thread, fantastic, thanks for taking the time to share TBR :upyeah:

  7. Added a bit of colour (custom airbrush) to the MTS and enjoyed a nice spring run to Zhouzhuang and Diashan Lake area (Jiangsu) just before the May national holidays (4 days holidays and the massive tourist holiday crowds will be out and about as toll free travel on the expressways)....

  9. Not sure how I managed to miss this thread either - looks like an amazing place and maybe one day I'll get the chance to visit. Keep the pictures coming. :upyeah:

  10. Steamed tortoise... I think I'll pass!

  11. Doesn't sound too appetizing I agree but you should see one of the local delicacies out here:

    bat soup.jpg

    Bat Soup!

  12. Man, they eat some weird stuff in China! I went over a few years ago and ate sea cucumber (most revolting!) and was offered deep fried cicadas (which I passed on). But bat soup really takes the cake!!

  13. I was offered one of those in Thailand, but it was lightly battered, KFC style and doing an impression of the Batman sign - nearly barfed!

  14. Quick overnight ride from Shanghai to Nanjing (Jiangsu) for meetings and dinner with mates, great spring weather in early May 2014.

As usual, a few temples long the route (National Highways G318 / G104) from Shanghai to Huzhou and onwards to Nanjing around Taihu Lake.

Stopover just up from the National Highway G104 between Huzhou and Nanjing to check out the New Fourth Army Memorial Hall
Full name "New Fourth Army National Revolutionary Army military memorial reconstruction", is located in the east of Jianjun Road, Yancheng, Jiangsu, China.

  15. On my 'to do when I win the lottery' list..........biking holiday in China! Thanks for sharing again.

    By the way.....

  16. Is there anything they will not eat

  17. Do let me know once you hit the jackpot please.
I'll made a habit of uploading small resolution images as I use some on other electronic devices and save space, certain webpages can only be accessed with a reliable VPN service while in China due to the Great "Internet" Firewall of China...

They eat a broad variety of food in China and the rest of Asia. What one culture likes, others may not. Some people grow very fond of a certain cuisine and reluctant to try others.

  18. Love your work!

But I am intrigued as to how you get on with servicing etc of the Duc out there as I can't imagine they are plentiful.
