Chinese Stuff

  1. How do they do it?

They don't pay their staff a proper wage.

  2. It's not quite fair to evaluate Chinese wages and working conditions by British standards.

It wasn't that long ago that China was closed to foreign trade. China ' s economy is still developing and has yet to reach a standard comparable with the West.

I have to earn a higher wage compared to a Chinese worker as my food and living costs are higher. If I could survive on £5 per week I'm pretty certain that's all I would get paid. Capitalist want to make as much money as possible, after all.

  3. My mate has an Aprilia Tuono and has a set of these fitted for 2 years. He is a hard rider and pretty fond of wheelies and the odd stoppie. He has never had any complaint other than the "how do they make them for that price?"

  4. Got a set on my Tiger well made from decent material, no complaints. Cost £35 beats mega bucks of the big names and if you drop it you don't cry so much.

  5. Your missing the point somewhat :D

  6. Not quite up to speed yet, need to practice more and read the full post.

  7. When I bought my bike it had the exact same levers on it. No problems at all and in fact, I think they are pretty cool and a bit of a middle finger at the chaps who spend a ton of money on this tat.

I removed mine when I put 848 masters on and the only negative I found was the lock nut on the piston rod (to master cylinder) had clashed with the housing and made a dent. No big deal.

  8. China has more billionaires than any country other than the US. Its average wages are less than 40% of the world average but certainly not £5 per week. Or at least they shouldn't be.

So if levers can be made and delivered for £15 per pair from China then something somewhere is not as it should be.

  9. Will new levers make me and my bike quicker?

  10. do they make rear sets that do not cost 500£

  11. The key rings show that more too, strange?

  12. If I had a loaf daily I'd be fat! :)

  13. I think he meant the cost on the ingredients rather than the cost of making it. The oven alone would have cost more than that to heat.

And the reason the ingredients are so cheap is because supermarkets use the cheapest nastiest ingredients they can find.

  14. Just remember that ebay is a strange place where a feedback score is worth buying - ie, selling cheap goods at a loss in return for feedback.

  15. I would think that is why he asked on here for peeps experiences / opinions..

  16. I wouldn't buy anything safety related, but i have bought a fair few bits from China and would do again. I couldn't buy the materials let alone make stuff for what they can.

  17. You will be gobsmacked at the quality of these, I was. I told my boss we should all pack up our engineering jobs and go home I this is what they can knock out for less than 16 quid delivered. Go for them, I got the gun metal grey ones for m Monster and aside from a slight mod to do with the brake light switch they are superbly machined and fit fine. There is some lever wobble when you have them in your hands but once on the bike it's no worse than the standard levers. I was tempted to buy a 2nd pair incase they stopped making them but eBay is flooded with them so decided not to.
