I bought the 899 because it had a proper swingarm I hate single siders, just shows we’re all different.
No idea tbh mate was more an assumption. I know my 959 *felt slightly larger and taller than my 899’s but could easily just be in my head. (I’m 6ft but a measly 11 stone btw)
Seen people your size riding 600s quite comfortably so I guess it will just come down to personal preference. From reading this forum quite extensively over the years the 1199’s get extremely hot in traffic much hotter than your other two options. If you’re doing lots of filtering I would sugggest that’s going to get very boring very quickly. Good luck, all fabulous bikes
Thank you and yes have tread that too - I think have decided the get the classic 899 have found 2 one with only 1000 miles on the clock so virtually a new bike garage kept and hardly ridden
Nice work! Probably speaking to the converted but i would get that thoroughly checked over for an 8-9 year old bike with that low miles. If its your first Duc (like it was mine) its a perfect starter for 10 though. And if it doesnt work out you should be able to move up a few cc's and not lose too much £££ with the 899 market where it currently seems to be at. Keep us posted
Thanks yes first was a 749 then a 999 but a few years since being back on one - it comes with a warranty of 3 months from the dealer and MOT and service so fingers crossed - hoping it was a hobby weekend bike that was a toy so never used lol thanks for he advice though
Same view as red899 from me, a bike sitting around or with that low miles that long should probably be treated to a good service at a reputable place that knows Ducati's well just to check over places the uneducated like me wouldnt see. There are the obvious things like tyres not hard, no tight links in chain worth a good look too. But sounds like a perfect choice, hope it brings you lots of smiles per miles
