998 Chrome Flaking Rockers

  1. Can confirm the price is the same and pulling a couple more heads apart I now have lots that need doing :grimacing: on these heads there were a couple of closing rockers that have flaked is this common or due to misuse? (Think this engine has been used and abused) also among the knackered opening rockers there are a couple with what looks like very slight chips on the side any views? Still usable?

  2. maybe useable but little point in it if you think about the time and/or cost involved.

  3. Just get them done by Newmans, no point in just doing a couple, might as well have them all done and forget about them.

That said I only did my openers, never had a problem with the closers but, if they have been too tight or way too loose it might bash them into submission...

  4. What I was thinking but no discount for bulk so be lots to have 8 done but deff cheaper than duc ones and never worry again........

  5. Cost of doing 8 by Newmans is, probably, around the same as 2 new ones from Ducati - and they'll likely be made of chocolate.

If only doing a couple and then you get further failures, then you've saved nothing and had to do the job twice. If you take the heads off to do them then you've added another £100 or so for gaskets etc. Do it right - do it once.

No point in cutting corners here IMO.
