Clean And Polish

  1. If you've ACF50'd it then you're fine.
I use a VFR as a daily commuter and am not interested in how it looks, but its got a good layer of ACF50 on it so that when the salt goes off the roads and spring arrives I can hose it off and It won't have needlessly rusted away.

If I had a PP Multi I'd certainly invest 30mins in the autumn to stop it dissolving ;)

  2. Bitten the bullet and getting a man round this year

  3. Which Muc-off products are no good? The pink cleaner stuff, the polish, the protectant or all of it? I use the pink cleaner on the really grubby bits and wash off with water and shampoo and spray non-painted parts including the engine with PTFE protectant/water repellent. Also use PTFE chain lube. The polish I use is Slickmist.
    Is this regime no good?

  4. if its clean its clean! I went on one of the car detailing forums for advice as there are far more car detailing freaks than there are bike detailers that I could find on the web. Id used collinite wax to coat boats before. Whatever finish you get from wash and polish you can increase longevity by waxing.

Ask this lot Detailing World - A world for detailers by detailers. theres some very sparky vehicles to look at in this bit: Post a pic of your best reflection shot. - Detailing World

  7. Wow. I wasn't brave enough to do mine.

When I took delivery of my panigale it was scratched to buggery - covered in swirls / hazing etc from poor cleaning / prep. I seriously considered not accepting it. In hindsight I should not have.

I thought about compounding it but decided to leave it as the paint is just so soft, both on the panels and the tank. Made do with hand polishing / compounding the worst of the marks and left the rest.
