The clip on clamps are handed. The bar tube should be flush (maybe +5mm) with the tube clamp section. The pics above show correct installation
cranker, you are right im sure! i knew they were handed and thought id taken that into account because of the angle of the tube but obviously i fucked it up as clearly, if flipped the tube simply slides in from the other end so still angles down. Have been looking in vain for an image of em fitted to our style bikes. Thank you very much for the advice and pics, i was very close to buying new ones today! I think i owe you a pint or 2 and and an apology, I think i may have misinterpreted your motives in your pm to me. If so I am sorry.
I have Fast by Ferracci bar risers on all my bikes and they work very well. About a 25mm rise and they are split clamps as well. The good thing is that the risers are designed to take stock bars so there is no having to cut off or modify the pins on the handlebar switches.
Cheers mate! it was one of those when you have it in ya head that you have it right and the part is at fault.. Still learning...
fitted em as you have but although it works it's a b it crap that the logos are underneath and the pinch bolt on top! hence the confusion when originally installing!
