  7. Well worth watching it for what it is. I do not get it there is a movie that is based around rock music and rock bands. Has best rock anthems in it and is a musical so not usual down the road movie. Yet people do not go and see it because they do not like one guy out of entire cast. Worse is guy is not even having primary or secondary role in it. Because of attitude that movie has to make money and not be good one like this will probably not happen again. You might get one based around spice girls or some rappers but not rock. Just enjoy it.

  8. I would just listen to the original artists (and watch a film if it was a documentary type......although I would include The Song Remains The Same; Easy Rider; Apocalypse Now; etc etc)...not with some opiniated d*ckhead like Brand.

Besides, I can't stand Bruce Springsteen's stuff........American Rock is hardly Rock with a few exceptions like The Doors and Motley Crue.

  9. You ain't street, innit.

    Who gives a fuck?

Rio will be as formulaic as everyone expects.

What a bunch of stuffy old tossers you lot are. Just cos you :rolleyes:don't like the Spice Girls or Jessie J don't mean everyone hates them. Personally I can't stand them either, but the fact they've sold a gazillion records between them suggests that someone does. For once the British have done something to be proud of, and all you old farts can do is moan...

  10. I hear ya and each to their own but I have to say US rock is as good as UK one and in some periods even better. However that is music choice so personal opinion. To name few KISS, Aerosmith, Van Halen, The Doors, Metallica (well if you take it as rock band) or Guns N Roses but I know you will debate that :D I almost forgot The Beach Boys.

  11. Nope I just like proper music, not today's modern sh*te dumbed down to to suit the dumb - ed down masses.

PS...Why didn't the Spice sing 'Humpy Pumpy' instead of 'zig-a-zig'? Or was that another attempt at dumbing down?

    AL.

  12. Oh Yeah, I forgot Aerosmith............but I think Metallica are cr*p...certainly they are compared with proper UK rock bands......

  13. Well all I listen to all "good" rock bands no matter where they are from and for me each had a good spell. For example in my opinion no one ever topped Rush while KISS defined modern rock. Alice Cooper said it out loud all rock bands of his era started the entire image think after KISS.

  14. You just don't get it, daddio. All the stuff you listen to is grandad music for the nearly-dead...

And what's all this talk about american bands? We're British, goddammit:mad:
    (Present company excepted, Lucasz...)

  15. We went a bit off topic I agree. However I also agree with AL that modern music is dumbed down and if Uk wants to be a leader fine and great power demands great responsibility :D AL it is not only music, entire entertainment scene is going down the drain. People can not sit through a movie that is longer then 75 min. That is why TV shows became so popular 1h with adds.

  16. Modern music isn't dumbed down, popular modern music is. It's no different than it always has been. You don't do mainstream when you listen to eclectic.

Closing ceremony was mainstream and none the better for it really, I could go on, but, well ...

  17. I can't agree with that at all. There's plenty of great music around now, and believe me there was a far higher percentage of crap music back in the seventies. There's all sorts of 'factory' bands around now, but there always has been, it was just less blatant back then. TV's crap now though, admittedly:frown:

  19. Oh yes I effing do.....It all depends on who your Grandad was really, but I can assure you I don't listen to Vera Lynn.......Still, I bet you were brought up on Picketty-Witch and The Osmonds....more sh*te.

    American Bands........Just mentioned it......

    And you might be British...........................

    AL.

  20. I totally agree with you on this.....
