  1. Nelson, if you can listen to your forks with a screwdriver and pull up on your bars at the same time, I'd consider a future in a travelling circus if I were you.

  2. You did hold the screwdriver the right way around when you heaved up on the clip-ons, didn't you?

Or are you walking around with it through your head?

  4. I wonder if your guide and slider bushes are worn, allowing the stanchion to rock a bit over it's length.

I have just been out to see if my forks do it....I have new bushes in mine and there is a tiny amount of movement when I have the front supported and I pull/push on the fork bottoms.....(similar to a small amount of headstock bearing play)......before the bushes were replaced, there was quite a lot of movement and clonking, mainly in the up direction.

Also, the cartridge thingy tends to make a noise on full extension of the rod.......

  5. My 749 did it, now that I have 749 forks in monster (stripped 2k miles ago) they also do it, when they do it together with loose pads and floating disc one hell of a clank that can be.

  6. the noise is from your top out springs attached to the cartridge inside your forks

  7. Thanks chaps,

Starting to sound like it would be odd if it didn't do it..
