get a 500 quid hack....ride this until around May........get some TITS (time in the saddle) with a bike that you can make all your silly early errors on, drop throw at the scenery, learn and walk away.....
Don't know what you mean by excessively but sounds like most riders first experience of a Ducs dry clutch. You need plenty of feel for the biting point and often have to slip em to get a nice smooth launch. You should get used to it pretty quickly. The dry clutches can be temperamental though and there is always the chance that something's not right and causing it to grab, the best way I can think of to find out if there is a problem is get someone who's used to them to have a trundle on it, I see you're in Wakefield I'm only round the corner if you need a volunteer
already looking for a cheap bike as your right i need to learn. but the 749r came up and i had to have it. have enjoyed looking at it over xmas but now its time to learn on something sensible
