About time Ducati did a bit of research, and designed a seat that is fit for purpose. You pay a lot of money for a new Ducati, and the seat is probably one of the most important components as far as rider comfort is concerned. It should not be that difficult for them to sort this out, you should not be looking for a replacement seat on new bike.
The standard seat tilts you forward into the tank and is not fit for purpose. The Touratech is flatter and does not. Its still very firm and can get uncomfortable after a few hours in the saddle but at that point you are ready for a break anyway.
Exactly what RichW says ^^. I was out on mine (Touratech) over the weekend, and I like to ride in jeans. My arse still flattened after a few miles, but my nads stayed comfortable throughout On the stock Multi seat, my nads were always squished up to the tank AND I had a flat arse ... so either wear padded leathers, or wear cycle pants or similar, but get rid of the stock seat either way.
From one of my favorite articles by Peter Egan of Cycle World: We are told optional factory “comfort” seats may become available. Why not make the “discomfort” seat an option, just to see how many people would order one?
