It should be. He's had 9 years or so on that bike and failed to bring home the bacon while his last two team mates have secured the title at the first attempt. His record on paper is actually pretty good, but it sure don't look it from where I'm sitting.
Riding shotgun he is the nearly man a modern day mamola. Have nowt against him but his time must be up unless marquez fails spectacularly . Mm never fails to surprise me. I know it's only the opening round. Aleix is showing his true potential, and his motivation must be high. Moto3 a new name at the pointy end the 'faster' Marquez brother .
Cal sucked balls in his first season of MotoGP, especially in the first few races so don't judge Redding on his performance so far... It's only MM93 that can turn up and win right off the bat.
Redding will get there, there's no doubt about that. And you have to remember that Smith had the best rookie season of any brit before him, and this year he's outqualified the works guys in the first race. We have nothing to moan about so far.
Tom, Far from Judging Scott as I think he's a great rider with lots of potential, I just think he's been somewhat shafted by what the team are delivering in terms of a bike. As Fig said Honda need to come up with some serious bit's to make all the Honda Open class bike's more competitive and for Scott to manage to qualify as high as he did on a bike that's a couple of kph faster than laverty's bike he has done a great job.
a lot did change and yamaha seems to suffer the most..20° fuel drop is one big load of fuel missing.. apparantly the heating of the middle cylinders of the IL4 seems to be a big issue as they need extra fuel to cool them.. the hondas seem not to sufffer that much as all cylinders get fueled and cooled evenly. The yam seems to be roughened up and it seems to disturb Lorenzo's smooth corner speed riding style more then MM point and shoot style.. then MM goes fishing instead of testing and takes pole anyway... Cal seems to fall back in the fold and looks like hee'll be trailing Dovi ... grrrr...
Dovi has had more practice on that bike than Cal, so it's normal that he is ahead. After all, there isn't that much to choose between them talent-wise. if the Yam is poor and has problems, how do you explain Smithers' performance (although to be fair, we haven't had the race yet)?
The Yam is poor because it has a bunch less fuel. Yamaha and Honda have bought this on themselves by pushing for fuel economy as the restriction each year.
Cal crashed on the final lap of Warm Up session. Lost the front and tumbled in to the gravel but appears to be ok. Iannone put in the fastest lap.
Sorry chaps, but on the same bike Dovi has proved to be faster than Cal more often than not. I don't like to say it, but it's true. If the race spreads out rather than bunches up I fancy bradders for a podium.
Redding did everything right. Staying with Haydon would have been great but to beat the former champ in his rookie race is nothing short of spectacular. I just hope Honda do the decent thing and give him more speed, losing 0.6 sec just on the straight is taking the piss big time
Me too I watched it like this. Main race on big screen with 2nd screen in background for engine noise. Then 4 screens on tablet jej
Great race didn't look like cal was best happy to be stopped and to be asked about the bike. Vr expressing himself
