Confidence, placebos and mumbo-jumbo

  1. It gets worse all the time. Seems that there is only one way to question: extrapolate the opposite view, assume with closed questions 'it is.....isnt it' its just nonsense and humphreys is the worst. Not sure he's worth 5x the price of the women on the show...or 3x Nick Robinson

Still better than the radio two mob though

  2. I don't listen to Radio 2, though I am beginning to think that perhaps i should. Surely my target age group by now (sob!).
Yes, the closed question thing is completely pointless. Humphrys just seems to betray his profound ignorance about any topic that has the slightest redolence of modernity, ie, forget him being able to fathom anything digital. That's what I mean when I suggest he should be pensioned off. As for his ridiculous salary.. Where do I sign?

  3. John Humphreys is a truly dreadful old fossil - should have been sacked years ago. I can just about stand listening to Nick Robinson, who went to my old college and read my old subject - except that he is a Conservative.

  4. Sad that he's a Con. Seems like such a good bloke!

  5. I am quite keen to hear the views of government and opposition politicians, senior military officers, captains of industry, trade union leaders, ambassadors of foreign nations, and generally of influential people with things to say. Sadly they are continually distracted and interrupted by the useless presenters, who seem to hold preposterously over inflated opinions of themselves.

  6. Well, I agree with you. It would be interesting to see what they had to say, but when the questioning is as adversarial, they are not very likely to say it. It really is a case of "Anything you say may be used in evidence..." I don't think that all the presenters are as you describe, but I bet they are being coached by their producers...
