Can I ask why the heat wrap round the exhaust? Does the heat make the carbon shield discolour? I heard a romour it can happen more so with the gloss finish and will be getting a gloss one at some point hence why im asking.
Hi, Due to the extreme heat the exhaust guard will burn and discolour, matte was used with Ducati originally as the gloss will bubble and burn without the protection of heat wrap or ceramic coating.
I take it you haven't found another way to prevent this if the wrap isn't working? I have already put a fair amount of gloss carbon on my 899 already and I prefer it to the matt.
We will but we're currently attending a few shows at the moment so time is against us. I'll let you know as soon as we start with the ceramic coating.
Surely Ceramic Coating holds the heat like steel. I thought that was why they used it in some industrial ovens. Anyway I look forward to seeing if it works as I would like to fit one.
