A little bit late to this thread, but some thoughts anyhow There are some cracking routes, but weekends, bank holidays and good weather can bring out all the tourists jamming up the roads so keep your whits about you. I'm based on the Southern edge of the Cotswolds, headed out today to try a route I picked up off of the RiDE website that a chap told me about. It was an absolute cracker, did all 150 ish miles in about 4.5 hours. Generally the traffic was quite (week day helped) but most of the route was away from the main tourist traps. It's a little bumpy in places but anybike should cope fine (like most of the roads around the Cotswolds).
