Could I Live With A 1980's 2stroke?

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by spanish, Oct 1, 2018.

  1. I don't know anything about the earlier 1980's motorcycles as i'm a ninetys man (a late starter) but i did placed my bike in for a service back in day at dobles and was given a secondhand suzuki RGV250 as per coloured picture to try out, this was the first and only time for me on a twostroke and very agile indeed :upyeah:but yes very much would like a Aprilia RS250/RGV/NSR250/TZR250:blush: s-l300.jpg

  2. Remembering seeing an rgv a couple of years back, owned one back in the day, and they are quite a small bike from what I remembered. Lovely bike, I'd have one if the prices weren't so expensive. Mine was fond of losing bolts.

There's an Rd lc on ebay for 12k. Think I'd pass on that one. Fools and their money eh.

  4. Some nice bikes there wroughtiron! I’d have thought the next to f all mileage ones would have been advertised for more than that. But I must have been sniffing the tippex again. Love a mars bar colour scheme.....

  5. I've had a few 2 stokers in my teens, early 20's

    Yam RD125LC

    Yam RD350LC YPVS

    Yam TDR 250 x 2

    Suz RGV 250

    Aprilia RS250 x 2

    RS500 Hybrid – RG500/RS250

    Suz RG500

On reflection the 350 YPVS was the most fun for the money

  8. Doh! Where were glasses!!! Proper discrete - blended in with the car window. Ahem. Cough. Cough.

That would have to be right up there in bikes I want to own. So spill the beans, what was it like with that engine and handling? Did you buy it or build it???

    Cheers!!!
