Oh, grief. The 2005 "remake" of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Vile. I wish I had continued to forget that it exists.
Must confess I haven't. Have driven a new Mini John Cooper Works. That also was 'dope' (I think? ) but still yuk compared to the original classic.
I don't own one but have a couple of mates that have them and have had a spin, loads of fun. One of their dads also has the Ferrari version which I haven't driven but suspect is a bit more fun
Not been done yet but the terrible remake I fear is of the brilliant Spanish movie Cell 211. Haven't yet seen the cast list, but when I saw the original, I thought if the Americans really wanted to cock it up they'd cast Colin Farrell and Keanu Reeves (given superficial resemblances to the original lead players).
Fair play, I haven't seen Dexter but in the films I've seen him in it's really his whiney voice that bugs me
Celine dion and ACDC's monster "you shook me all night long" ....... This is one of my all time fave's and quite frankly the Germans were quite right to invade France , this would never have been allowed had they been in power !!!!! Please check this on YouTube ...... It will make you start an invasion .....
AC DC might have done 'You shook me all night long'.........but I think there are better numbers with almost the same name.....IE 'You shook me' (all night long)......Led Zeppelin first album, written by Willie Dixon and JB Lenoir 'hundreds of years ago' and done before Led Zeppelin by Muddy Waters.....the original artist I can't recall offhand. If you haven't heard them, pick them up on YouTube. AL.
New Dredd 3D great, old one yuk. Loved remake of gone in 60s. Total Recall remake crap. In general plenty of remakes that are crap in comparison but still great watches. Times move on.
i happened upon your post here Glidd and im so glad youve saved me the bother of having to point out how appallingly shit the original was anyway.
or... 'Shake, shake, shake. Shake, shake, shake. Shake your booty', by KC and the Sunshine Band. Its in the guiness book of records, not for the most weeks at number one, nor being the highest grossing single of all time, nor being the most played record on american radio...No, its simply got the word 'shake' more times than any other record in history..Thats like...wow man...awesome.
The Good, the Bad, the Indifferent Most things fall into one of the above categories, and thankfully we all have different opinions (e.g. How boring would it be if we all preferred Jap metal?). Some 'covers' I think are as good as if not better than the originals : Tax Man : Black Oak Arkansas Dear Prudence : Siouxsie & the Banshees Rollin' & Tumblin' : Cream Variations on a theme by Thomas Tallis : Ralph Vaughan Williams There are many more. There are also loads that are worse.
