  1. did you ever find a reason/find a solution for this @richardbd ?

  2. I would ask to go and test ride another multi v4s for 3-4hrs and see if you get the same feeling. 11k miles on mine and no vibes so far ( 2 XRs before)

  3. My V4 PP has character for sure, but I wouldn’t call it vibey by any standard, clocks and mirrors easy to read at all speeds, don’t feel any unreasonable vibes through the bars or seat. It’s not as smooth as an inline 4 I guess, but that why it’s a V4 with character
You must have got a bad one perhaps..?

  4. wow!! and this was a new bike? how was this all determined, and what was your initial complaint to the dealer?

  5. It could be an individual's tolerance level? But my gut says I have a one off, but the dealership doesn't want to hear it, and another dealership that I've consulted doesn't want a step child. (they were actually more accommodating compared to where I purchased the bike)
if anything these V4GT's should behave better than the previous L twins I had a 2013 pikes peak and Diavel so I consider myself familiar with the signature Duc vibes- but the V4 vibe is something different and just plain out annoying.
It actually is close to being smooth as an Inline 4, like an Inline 4 with a twin pulse...when initially taking off it doesn't shudder like the L twin but you can still feel that twin pulse slightly, then the mid range gives you that Aprilia feel and sound and no annoying vibes yet, then above that all hell breaks loose think above 7K mirrors blur out completely, dash looks like its in a paint mixer,at a hardware store and just basically uncomfortable sustaining those hi revs and speeds.
I was able to convince my dealer to test against a V4S and bottomline I didn't experience what I feel on my bike, however the GM that accompanied me stated that the V4S had alot more vibrations than my bike..... umm yeah ok, stop that PR shit with me Pleeez!! They kept hounding that these are 2 different bikes, I would argue back it's the same motor and chassis with a different suspension setup that I doubt contributes to this vibration... It's just a useless back and forth similar to the Democratic and Republican arguments.. So as I mentioned I'm at a lost and not sure what direction to go.. not even sure if this can be lemon lawed?

  6. I’ve got a similar thing with my speed triple rr, it’s a triple, the smoothest engine on earth yet I’m getting numb hands also. I’m going to do similar thing, get the wheel checked etc and then try re-setting the front axle

  7. You could also try pumping some silicone sealant or mastic etc. down the bars to fill them up.

  8. Have you ever heard of conformation bias, perhaps you are convinced about a problem that may not really exist?

  9. No, but looked it up-
people's tendency to process information by looking for, or interpreting, information that is consistent with their existing beliefs.
    I don't believe so-
I'm processing this as an abnormal condition that Ducati needs to look into, and my beliefs of a V4 motor configuration is smooth power delivery i.e. Aprilia V4 smooth from idle to redline. My Duc PP V4GT is not consistent with my existing belief
There's only less than a handful of V4 Pikes Peak owners that I know of that are experiencing this Hi Vibe condition
I'm sure it's not on the Ducati radar and if so- it's so far deep into the minority that I'm confident they'll just sweep this under the rug, since it's really not a safety issue, according to my dealer- Just a couple of consumers that's not having a stellar experience with the V4's potential to the fullest- compared to Majority who experience pure bliss with their V4's
as for me I have a $30K bike that I can't ride in the upper rpm range for for long durations because it's uncomfortable- Mirrors get so blurred and useless, dash looks like it's going to fly out of it's mount, and bars vibrating so much that throttle needs to be cut to normalize the entire cockpit area.
For the record I've been at this game for over 25 yrs and I would know if there is something not quite right with a bike,
I've also owned previous Ducs 2013 PP and Diavel with the L Twins- and these bikes did not exhibit this Hi vibration at the upper rpm range that this V4 has.
