  1. 4sr are quality , I have a m2m suit( not kangaroo) best suit I’ve ever had!

  2. Maybe I should have a chat with them.

  3. Very good

  4. Racers wear them, so they must be at least decent.

Im wondering whether to wear my suit in the shower and then leave on round the house. (When wifey is away of course). Its what I'd do with DM's back in the day. Or just go out on a rainy day.

Its new and Ive worn it twice on road (Laguna Seca 5). Its snug. But on teh plus side Ive lost 0.5st walking to work and back. The back protector front fastening can feel like a truss. Prob good for some of you tubbies out there. No, I am not being fatist. Otherwise I'dve said 'you fat c*nts'.

The Dainese store in London is pretty good.

  5. Perhaps we should swop suits Bootsam, my gear gets smaller every year of its own accord which means I really have to breathe in as I fasten the zips.:)

  6. Apparently it’s going to take 17 weeks to make one…

  7. 17 weeks is reasonably prompt for made-to-measure.

  8. I thought two to three months was usual. That's what I'm being quoted for Dainese. 17 weeks seems a long time to me.

  9. There's another Company here called PSi Hubik and they quote eight weeks. I'm not sure if anyone has heard of them?

I believe that Dainese are currently quoting around eight to ten weeks.

If 4SR are taking seventeen weeks then that might indicate that they are rather popular but it could also mean they are understaffed. Either way, I'd end up getting the suit after I've started doing some track days and we all know what Sod's Law would have to say about that...

  10. Have you looked at BKS?

  11. I'm in Prague. I think BKS are UK? 4SR and PSi are 1 to 1.5 hours drive from me. A Dainese place is about 15 minutes away.

4SR and PSi make suits that are airbag ready for InMotion or Alpinestars airbags. I do like the relative ease of getting the airbags serviced with these options rather than the Dainese requirement that the entire suit gets sent back to get the airbag serviced. If the quality is on par then I'll go with one of them and PSi have a far shorter production time than 4SR. There's far more customisation available as well. Quality and safety are the priority of course.

  12. My bad. Forgot you were in prague.

  13. I had a mate who had dainese, and when he sent it back ,they wouldn't recharge unless he had damage repaired as well. The damage was a bit of sticking ripped on the badge on the hump. Nothing that comprised the suit, but the repair cost was ridiculous

  14. It’s bad enough that it has to go back to them after just one event, but for them to do that makes it even worse.

I think I’ll probably go for PSi. They seem to have a decent reputation and to be good quality, I can have whatever style and design I want and they have been very responsive to my enquiry. They use the Alpinestars airbag, and that allows two discharges, can be re-gassed and serviced locally and can be used with other clothing, which seems like a much better way of doing things.

I would have probably gone with 4SR but I can’t wait 17 weeks for it.

  15. I would talk to 4sr first Spooky, mine were about 12 weeks but the communication was excellent and the custom design was spot on! Airbag ready and I’m going to be using the Ixon vest, :upyeah:

  17. I’ve discussed it with them and I said that even 14 weeks would be in time but they have been very clear that it will take 17 weeks and not less. I did try!

  18. That’s fair enough then,at least you tried! I wasn’t in a rush so easier for me, hope you get sorted anyway bud!

  19. Cheers. I’ve got track days coming up in June and I really want an airbag sorted out in time for that. Sod’s Law and all that…

It’s a shame I wasn’t aware of 4SR before as I’d have ordered sooner - their stuff does look excellent and I see it being used by a lot of racers and getting into some well-known stores. There are a couple of big stores in the US that have very recently started stocking their suits so perhaps that’s not helping the production time.

Having said that, PSi do look excellent as well and I’ve spoken to some people over here who are very well aware of them and say that their suits are excellent quality. They aren’t cheap but they have been going for over 30 years, can do whatever style and design I want (caricature of my dog on the back - no problem), are about one hour away from where I live, are an authorised service centre for the airbag part, have been extremely responsive and helpful and can do it in 8 weeks. Excellent reviews on their Facebook pages as well.

  20. I went to visit PSi today and they couldn’t have been more helpful. A nice bike to sit on as well. Currently working on the design with them. I’ll also be getting some custom kangaroo gloves - they had the same design in cow leather and kangaroo and the difference was immediately obvious.
