Nr 750's were 37k new, now over 100k and they are flipping Honda not great looking either, the Desmo is a work of art, I knew of a Desmo going for circa 23 to 25k in the trade around 6 years ago but not anymore, in 20 years time how much? 150k Why not they are hitting 55+ now, do they stall at 100k? Who can predict, I could have had a v6 clio cat d admittedly for 6k a few years back and I thought sod that I wish I had that chance again....if you can buy a Desmo buy it, you won't lose but imagine riding and owning one, life is short it's about enjoying things not just accumulating money or investments.
Unfortunately it is not always possible to take that simplistic approach. There are plenty of these on the market and for me at least it's more about finding the right one at fair value. I, and probably many more like me work hard for the money I have access to and can't just write a blank cheque because I want to enjoy the ride. If I consider it overpriced, I'll move on but somebody will buy it and I'll wait for another, Ducati made at least 1500 of them and we live in a global market. That's where I stand anyway and now I'm off to work to try and earn a little bit more!
In 20 years when it’s 20 miles to your nearest petrol station, or if we have another market crash. I do like the nostalgia but most of the time I don’t get paying over the odds for a bike like this. Give me a V4 or a Pani R with >30k change any day of the week. I guess I’m just more frugal than the guy or girl with 1 million in their current account to splash on toys - lucky sods. I saw a Ruf CTR2 the other week, it was up for 500k! Extremely cool car but no way I’m paying half a million for a min-90’s ford interior.
Wow - there is a new one for that in the Sheffield Shop so I based my guess on that - seems DMC are dearer than the dearest shop in the universe now
I guess so! There are three or four near me for beween 40-55k€ at the moment but as it 'appens, I'm buying that SFS on Sunday so going to tool around on that for the summer until my Speciale is ready!
I couldn't give a flying about the miles but yes the exhaust is a major plus. It'll have to wait a bit in any case as I've just bought a Streetfighter!
