That's a quote and a half, I think i would have run out of bottle before that happened, try the R1 mate, it's like a fast 1098
I had a crossplane crank R1 and its a very good bike. A very very good bike. However I think I prefer my 848 Evo Corse SE
Which colour ET? Spoke to dealer, they will indeed take the bike back and refund what I paid in full. Fair play, they done right by me. Also suggested I consider getting a new bike as I'm 'quite particular' (well yes, I am but, it was crashed FFS!). Will get back to me later in the week with some numbers. Just how good a deal we'll have to see.
I'd get your money back and go to another dealer. Why have they suggested a new bike? Because they want more money out of you. I wouldn't give them a penny.
Of course they do. That's what all businesses want, ultimately. I'm going to see what the deal is and weigh it up from there. However I was very impressed with the service I got from Riders, no pressure and the guy was happy to talk about the different options open to me with other marques. I would still like to try an R1, just to make sure.
I had an 08 r1 and thought it was turd the cornering was crap I don't know if the cross plane model is better handling wise but from reading reviews there very similar in that respect, I got shot of it for an 09 blade and I've never road a better bike since it was just so easy to ride fast it made me feel like a hero, the suspension is amazing on the road and it had great midrange and top end I but even though it was amazing I'd still rather have my 848 in the garage
Think there is movement within that price mate...its been there a little while now. I went over it with a fine tooth comb and it was in immaculate condition really was. Think the only mod was carbon tank guard.
Fair point. They would have known it had been binned. The technicians have an eye for this sort of thing and would have ridden it and felt it was not 100%.
Thanks man, that's really useful. I do wonder why someone would buy and the then sell a bike after 400 miles. I know. Shit happens but still, look what happened with mine, that had only 1500 miles on it.
Mine was 4 weeks old with 281 miles on the clock. The guy that bought it new had just passed his test then realised it was too much for him so traded it in for a Monster. His loss, my gain. By £2000.
Ducatibob 848 - If you can't handle or afford a 1098 there is no need for disparaging remarks about those who can. You may be inadequate, others aren't.
