899 Dealers No Longer Taking Orders For New 899s

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by duke63, Jul 21, 2015.

  1. New Diavel carbon been unveiled

  2. This makes me SO happy, as it should other 899 owners because it looks like they literally have just upped the CC (ie no full Ohlins etc, no SSSA) so hopefully won't completely trash the value of the 899.

Granted there might be an 's' model but they will cost more, so I'm happy with that.

  3. Is it just me who actually prefers the 1199 body to the 12?

It's hard to tell them apart but when you look at it from the front I do prefer the 11.

  4. Tbh you can't tell the 10/1198 or 848 apart from the front or side, easy to tell all the 99 series apart .

  5. Yawn

  6. I'm glad you said it... it's one of the reasons I took the plunge with the 899, I just LOVE the front, it's stunning, the little air intakes next to the 'fins'. The new one looks a little watered down to me. That said the rear seat unit is lovely on the 1299. I did read a review that said the mirrors vibrate a lot on the 1299, something they don't at all on the 899 other than a little bit at idle.

As I said, I am happy they seem to have just 'tweaked' it, this looks like a production ready bike, it's finished and why would have put the decals on to then cover them up unless it is literally one that is ready to do the dominicali ride onto stage thing!

  7. If the ( massively overpriced ) cost of the new Monster 1200r is anything to go buy, I dare not think what price this 959 will be !

    It'll sell well Im sure..

  8. Yeah 100%, the rear cowl of the 12 is mega!

I can't comment on the mirrors as I can't see sh*t out of mine on the 899 lol!

  9. Really? U need to try a 1098/848!!! I nearly took them off they were so bad (even with the extensions)!

I must admit I would have smiled through gritted teeth a little if they had put a SSSA on the 959, it doesn't 'matter' to me that mine is dual sided at all but I like the symmetry of the big bike and little bike being separated by just engine size.

I use to love the single swingarm when the pipes weaved their way up and under the seat, obv that doesn't happen any more

  10. Im sorry, but thats outrageous in my opinion.

  11. Yep, get a right old lean on, otherwise all I can see is my shoulders.

    Which granted aren't exactly small.

  12. If you look closely at the second picture you can clearly see some midrange.

  13. Thank fu*k for that, struggled to overtake a Corsa this morning!!

Ps.... £13995, they are joking right???? That's a fair hike £1200!!

  14. Its certainly looking like it will be over £13500 given the hike on all other bikes.. Base 1299 is £17021 or thereabouts.

    You need an 848evo

  15. Like the look of them both. Rear of the 12 looks better IMO however I frequently use a Kriega tailpack on mine, only comes in contact with the cheapo rear seat , don't fancy strapping anything to the bodywork of the 12 type rear ( if at all possible). Also , I'm under the impression that the mirrors on the 12 don't fold ( I may be wrong ) , if this is the case I assume ( again may be wrong) this will be similar on the 959. I filter & fold daily on my 899 , makes my skinny bike - skinnier..
I accept both these points are likely to be irrelevant to most owners, they just make ownership a little easier in my world..

  16. I agree with that. WTF are they thinking where the hell is the new streetfighter that's what we want

  17. Correct sir mirrors don't fold. Pain in the arse. They vibrate so much they are useless anyway.
