899 Dealers No Longer Taking Orders For New 899s

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by duke63, Jul 21, 2015.

  1. It's a track launch though

  2. he is playing ;) If no more orders are being taken for 899's and the track launch of the new bike is at all related - it is a replacement for the 899 - but will the capacity increase - 916? :)

  4. Na, would need another cylinder for that!

  5. Where did i read at the end of last yr that Ducati were testing the 899 with 1199 in Italy, all behind closed doors. They had another bike there along with their gp bike at the time..."testing"

  6. It would make total sense, the bikes will probably have a 4 year development cycle for new models and 2 years for refresh, so as soon as it was signed off in 2013 they would have started working on the next 'update' I guess.

Ultimately I just want to see 'IF' there is 'SOMETHING' changed on the 899, I would be more than happy with the current model if I could get one from a dealer that I can trade my Triumph in with, but I do want to wait until I have some bargaining power. The current £750 Accessory deal isn't enough to tempt me as honestly there aren't £750 of bits I want for it.

  7. Ducati Manchester took my triumph tiger in px. They have a triumph dealer in their group of companies.

  8. I'm not too worried, I have Reading, and I think Ayelsbury Ducati are a multi franchise dealer, it's just that HM Snell and Moto Rapido aren't and both are probably my preferred choice.

Too early to worry anyway, see what September brings :)

  9. I talked to the owner of Ducati Rio, and he told me it will be at least four releases. 899 Streetfighter, Multistrada Adventure , Scooter and a scrambler with a smaler engine probably a 400cc .

  10. That would surely be 5 then as he didn't mention the 899 Pani which they have stopped taking orders for which is what this thread was about ;) perhaps he doesn't know :)

  11. I asked about the pani 899, but he told me he does not know what will change it. Unfortunately we do not have the pani 899 for sale here in Brazil and I think that's why he should not know.

  12. Oooh 899 streetfighter, I like the sound of that.

  13. That's never stopped Andrew at MRs from doing a deal before. Ask him and see what he is prepared to do. Andy

  14. Except neither will want to take my Daytona 675 in part ex

  15. Brazil also has its own Ducati factory so they can make their own models that will not be distributed elsewhere!

  16. Have you asked ? Most single franchise dealers will have a friendly trader who they will get to underwrite a value on any non franchise make. I've seen a wide array of makes at MRs that have been px'ed. As I said, talk to Andrew, you never know until you ask. Andy

  17. Hmm okay mate, will ride over there and have a chat with the guys there next month, I'm in no desperate rush as my bike is basically worth what the book price is on it so want to wait a couple more months until we know 'if' a new 899 is coming.

The Aulton road is a much nicer road for going to a bike dealer though than reading!

  18. Sooo... my best guess, 899 single sided swing arm and electronic suspension with ohlins.

  19. Fair post mate, thanks for the pointer. I spoke with Snell this morning and they confirmed that they would be happy to look at the Triumph and also took my details so that 'when' there is any information about next years lineup they will give me a bell and get me in. He obviously didn't confirm anything other than that I can't order one, but I was really impressed with them on the phone, so would go there for sure.

  20. we do not have a factory, but an assembly line, the bike must have a percentage of parts manufactured in Brazil, but this percentage is small, not reaching 15%.
