Don't have the resources, money or a good divorce solicitor for the above. The third would have to be in place first...
But seriously part ex RSV & Kwak for an 1199 Base or S remove fairings and a set of straight bars job done yes ?
Rumours re any new bikes are normally flying around at this time of yr, but even all the euro mags etc have nout to say about anything ! I think the 899 is overpriced as it is, an lauching an "s" version, although clever by Ducati, would hardly be worth talking about ? Why not just buy funky internals for your front end and rear shock, it'll probably be better than the standard ohlins fitment ? That is unless, the 899 is going with the "active suspension" ? I am intrigued.........Maybe with the tweeked 1299, Ducati have anew superbike, a realy whopper of a bike to get them back to #1 in WSBK ? Who knows, we'll find out soon enough !
It's starting to win now though. Dont know if others will agree but the development timeline makes sense to me in that it was a new bike and now a year or two in it's starting to win. Hopefully it will continue it's upward direction seeing as there's so much resource behind it from the factory. It might end up just being a silly idea but I'm looking at what options I have to get my hands on one at the moment. Trying to decide between getting into some racing next year with a cheaper bike like a Triumph or GSXR or perhaps getting something silly like the R and spending the money on Euro trackdays which I must admit is a very attractive option as MissPineapple can then also do the same places. Or I just save money for a house which is probably the most sensible option but as a guy at Cadwell with a collection of superbikes said last week; 'no point being the richest man in the graveyard'. He did already have a house to put said superbikes in mind. Option three is I lose my job next week and have no money for house and superbikes!!!
True, but I dont know this time round. I want to be proved wrong, but we will see. Chaz is Doing a sterling job so far !! I have to say, the whole SSSA doest really bother me, looks great and all but I wasnt too upset when I seen the 899.But the trick clocks will surely push the 899 into the big money arena ?
I agree, as I said I think any mods are going to be small updates and that's fine, and I agree that if I had an 899 it would be a no brainer to just upgrade suspension and some lighter wheels but I can't order one at the mo full stop. Some dealers may have stock but I just want to make sure I don't pull the trigger if there is an option for a good deal. Ps... I'm totally buying the current one! Just want to see if anything happens
Heard today it's an 1199 street fighter ish bike, but will be called something other than Streetfighter. Also the Scrambler range will see some additional models added to the line up.
Whatever comes out they could spend some money on fixings that dont corrode when the fucking air hits them for starters.... Thatll put about 30quid on the ticket price...
Just cannot see a 899s being made, it would encroach on the 1299 panigale in price to much in my opinion. 899 Evo would be my guess, along the lines of the 848Evo.
MissP isn't up to racing, she's doing well but still in the Novice group, maybe going towards inters soon I reckon. The sun of euro days appeals as well I definately fancy some racing to learn some more skills as I'm really getting into the tracks at the moment.
Track days for show. Racing for go. Just be prepared to become less a lover of trackdays. Until Silverstone, I can't remember the last TD I did that I enjoyed on track
Hi guys Totally new to the forum but i had to post here. I have been after an 899 so have been ringing round to see what my options were. One of the dealers i rang said that there is a new version of the 899 is due to be announced soon and that is why they are not taking orders on them. He would not go in to details except it will be styled in line with the 1199 to 1299 updated.
