I suspect that people have different ideas about what is a 'neighbour', but I am not sure about that so I thought I would investigate. By asking people. It seemed to me a simple enough question. Now I am left wondering why some people are so strangely reluctant to give a straight answer to a straight question.
Why would you want to know what people think the term neighbour means? Earlier, you were less than interested in what people think the term racist means.

Yes, I know that in the dictionary 'neighbour' can mean anything from the person in an adjoining seat to another country; and it can mean a person you know well or have some duty to help, or someone you do not know at all, or even someone you dislike. I alluded to this in post #6. The point of the question was to ask what folk on here understood by it. All I have learned is that they are shy about answering. So be it.
I am very interested in what people think. It seems to me the word "racist" is pretty unambiguous, but if somebody wants to suggest otherwise or propose an alternative meaning go right ahead.
Not necessarily Pete - it could also be that some love their neighbours, but don't wish their neighbours husbands to find out
Anyway back on thread My NEXT DOOR NEIGHBOURS one side have three kids under 7, the other an old couple who have taken on grandkids duty over the last three years during almost all holidays, every day the younger one. Working from home has never been worse, and weekends when the sun comes out is unbearable at times. Not horrible people, or naughty kids, just kids being kids. And lots of noise. And lots of ..'Paul...Pail...What you doing Paul...' Every fricken time I venture into the garden! Thats the problem with being a pleb only able to live in a terraced...I'm a wannabee-middle-class...get me outa her!ompus:

I live in what is termed a 'nice neighbourhood'.I have neighbours on either side of me.On one side I have smashing neighbours.on the other side I have complete T+++ers.
My neighbours create constant noise day and night, do not clean up after themselves, leave shit and I mean shit everywhere, wind my dogs up all through the day and are always bleating on. Even worse the ones to the front are as bad as the ones to the rear.
