  6. ^ good call, and if the blindspot theory is true does explain a lot but still not sure why he didn't stop sooner as you would have thought he would have felt the impact with the bike immediately.

  7. heard a report a few years back suggesting that the larger A pillars on cars to improve the crash protection can be attributed to increased levels of collisions.
    careful out there folks.

  8. Yep I remember Audi A2 came under the spotlight for Ott "A" pillars

  9. a pillers on my zafira can hide a car at roundabouts quite easily it awful
is it me or did the truck driver try to keep going forward with the bike still under it ...........really !!

  10. ^ I think the bike owner editing the first part to show repeat footage does make it harder to see what actually happened.

  11. Yes, if you fly round the corner like that idiot. If you know you have a problem, then make sure the path you are going to take is clear. The lorry driver only paused to check the damage to his lorry after the impact not once before turning.

  12. Those big A pillars are a ****ing killer! I've been the drivers side of those and almost shat myself when a car already on the roundabout I was approaching popped out from behind the pillar!! If it was a bike, I my never have seen it!
Bottom line, NEVER assume someone has seen you and is going to stop!!

  13. I agree with most of what has been said.
    Q. Why didn't the Monster rider sound his horn?

Statement: UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES should the lorry driver have reversed to clear the bike; without first leaving the cab to check to see what he'd actually hit.
The rider he saw from the cab may have been the pillion; with the actual rider still under the lorry!
The "Nan" may have left the baby behind the lorry (instead she left it unattended on the pavement)..
He reversed back out onto an A road without a BANKSMAN!! A cyclist went passed moments later.

Shock had clearly set in with all three people present, to the point they weren't even looking for other traffic.
I agree that anger would have made my Prat Cam footage unusable in court (unless it was against me!).

  14. me copper mate tell me the first thing you do when attending an accident is attempt to locate everybody. sounds obvious don't it? apparently it's not that unusual for people involved to just wander off when the shock sets in.

  15. Lorry drivers fault no question, plenty of time to check and see where he was going the pillar wouldn't have blocked his view all the way round.
He spent too much time looking in his near side mirror, whilst still moving forward.

  16. It would take me 5 mins to find the horn button on any of my bikes. I know this from experience when I try to test the horn before taking them for an MOT once a year.

  17. And I think he was busy jumping off his bike to use his horn
Not sure the lorry driver would have heard it
The rider was shouting and the lorry driver didn't hear that
