Unusually there is a few on Ebay at the moment including this as an example of 'what they are not fetching' :Hilarious: Ducati 999R - STUNNING LOW MILEAGE BIKE | eBay
Yes, having posted I went looking and just to prove me wrong there is a veritable cornucopia available at the moment. Some optimism certainly but one or two realistic owners still out there. Andy
You got this one as well. 2004 DUCATI 999R BRAND NEW COLLECTOR OWNED ORIGINAL STUNNING PERFECT CONDITION | eBay Andy
I had a mint 748R (late model, full Ohlins) and while it was a beautiful bike, a fast moving piece of jewelry, it was a massive compromise on the road. The fuelling in the bottom of the rev range wasn't very clean at all, the riding position was shockingly painful (but then that goes for any of the 916 shape bikes) and crashing it was a heartbreaking, not to mention wallet emptying experience because so few of the late model 748Rs came to the UK, finding used parts was a nightmare. I think there are probably more secondhand parts around for later model bikes, although if you're able to afford one, then money may not be a problem anyway!
I'd go for a 1098R (but I have two 999R's) or do I need a Xerox 999 - will have to start saving again :Finger:
