Dave, I tried to drop you a PM but your message box is full. Just saw your post. I am signed up to that as well - should be a good trip. Be nice to put a few names and faces together. I have been with them a few times in the UK, almost always a total washout! Hoping this one is dry.... Need to just see if John and Rick have finished the work on the bike as I left it with them for a little TLC whilst my garage renovation is being done here, and because it was throwing electrical gremlins at me last time out, causing the TC system to kick in hard mid turn sometimes. Oops! Hopefully see you there. Best, Ian
Did my first tankful at Almeria yesterday - 67 miles from full to reserve light on. Not bad for on the track. I'm hoping that will give me something approaching 100 miles range on the road.
I will be collecting the bike from JHP tomorrow. I think it is just about empty so maybe I'll fill it up at a petrol station and see how many litres the new tank holds.
I didn't get on with the bike as well at Almeria as at the other tracks I have done on it - Portimao, Mugello and Magny Cours. It is a tighter and more technical track to ride and I have taken a step backwards in suspension setup ... but if I'm honest i don't think the new tank is quite as good a shape for track riding as the original. It doesn't look much different, so you would have thought to shouldn't have much of an effect so maybe I will get used to it. Still ... it was lots of fun ... but I'm sure I was even slower than usual - and it wasn't just the likes of Neil Hodgson, Ian Hutchinson, Tito Rabat, Niall, Taylor and Tarran McKensie wizzing round making me feel inadequate. Jesus those boys are fast!
Yes I think it may have. Need to get the suspension sorted and then work on my body position ... and the grow some bigger balls as well
Tbh, speaking from personal experience, the suspension wont do much if you cant get in the right spot and unless you are massively wrong with BP or grow orang-utan arms, you'll need to lift the seat or change the tank back. Although I could be talking bollox
Agree ^^^^ I'm really getting a liking for those too...never buy one tho as I cant afford for it to break.
