  3. The 450mm pipewerx is decent quality tbf, I have one on my r1. It’s massive but it sounds absolutely gorgeous, can’t comment on power gains obv

  4. Had a bit time to get a few more bits off the bike. The previous owner had swapped the engine after destroying the original one 3 weeks after buying the bike, and to be fair I wouldn’t let him change a light bulb let alone a panigale V4 engine.

I can only assume there has been a shortage of torque wrenches done in Oxford as some of the bolts on the bike were sooo tight I don’t know how more wasn’t damaged.

anyway, I needed to remove the airbox for piece of mind and to probably fit some samco hoses (tart it up a bit :grinning:)

how has this airbox got so dirty and rusty??
    3324DAEE-9AEC-47C3-9C26-1179FB56FFC7.jpeg

How much wildlife and debris is in this air filter?

and the most concerning is the hardware swap to attaché the airbox to the heads…. Gone are the OEM bolts and in are some galvanised 10mm bolts

As I intend on tarting about on many a track on this bike unless you are 100% on the bikes history and maintenance always have a good old look over it (or pay a trained mechanic to do so if you don’t have the time to spare or the tools)

And while I was tinkering I pulled the clutch out… might push me to get a dry clutch fitted :grinning:

  9. Good point, not actually sure. I have a 520 conversion kit but think it’s just a JT rear sprocket. Let me know what you want for the AEM goodness? :grinning:

  10. Do you need to remove the can to remove the rear wheel?

  11. Rear Shock

I already had a Ktech DDS pro shock that Simon at Sitramoto had supplied and set up for me…. So it was a no brainer that the stock shock was being swapped out.

2x M10 45mm bolts out and the shock slides out (easier if the rear subframe is off the bike of course) I’ll be swapping the bolts for Ti when I find the correct thread length bolts.

I hadn’t noticed the the oil weeping out of the shock until I removed it from the bike o_O but it’s going in the cupboard and I have no intention of using it other than to hold the bike when I get the DDS serviced / set up.

with the help of the some GeeTech peg stands, new shock in and both bolts torqued up 54nm :upyeah:

  12. what length did you set the shock to?

and what spec tie bars are you using? The originals?

  13. Pretty sure it’s 310mm from the factory. Has scope to go +\- 5mm

still on the stock tie bars, did you go into production with your custom adjustable tie bars? :)

  14. if I were building what you are doing I would buy a pair of the 2020+ tie bars (from Ducati reasonably cheap) and alter the length of your shock to 312...;)n as a starting point..

  15. Awesome, cheers pal, I’ll get some ordered :upyeah:

  16. Coolant Hoses

Seen as I’m checking a few bits over, removed the airbox to check the coolant hoses I figured it would be rude not to get some samco hoses fitted as well.

I tried to use the 44Teeth 10% off code on racebikebitz but sadly it wouldn’t work (it has now been fixed) so I received an email from James East at racebikebitz.com asking if everything was ok as I hadn’t completed the checkout… the email had a 10% code (JE10) which did work. So hoses ordered Friday and they arrived Saturday morning :upyeah:

In between FA cup games today I popped them onto the bike. Easily done when the airbox is already off.

And on putting the airbox back on I noticed one of the fastening lugs was broken which I hadn’t noticed when removing but luckily found and replaced with a spare I had in the garage o_O

  19. Trust me, after the 50th tyre change, this day of shiny loveliness will be a fading memory…. But enjoy them for now :D
