Hi OP, have you bought a bike yet? What did you get?

 

Presumably the sidestand plate which creates a bigger surface area to hopefully prevent the sidestand sinking into soft ground and the bike toppling over.

I've got the genuine Ducati plate on mine, although it's not that big so don't think it would do much in sand or mud!
