  4. Sounds good in principle but a bloody nightmare in reality……….the bloody phone never stops pinging once it starts and more often than not it’s just random, inane, shit of no consequence whatsoever.

  6. Many thanks for everyone's opinion, both privately and in the thread.

The snobbery thing is something I've experienced before, not only in Bike clubs, but also Boat clubs, and it's just not nice. Unfortunately if you decide to join a club based around a leisure activity that involves spending money on a vehicle or equipment you are going to encounter 'look at me' type Wankers who think that the only way to engage in a hobby is throw loads of money at it and then boast about it.
I ignore them safe in the knowledge that normal people don't consider me a complete Tosser.

It would appear that there is a more local social group to me, but it's a private group of individuals who would want me to grovel and then be grateful that they've invited me to join their little monthly spending competition.
So I don't think I'd get an invitation anyway.

I have joined the club, but not for the social aspect, I'm useless and awkward at that sort of thing anyway.
The benefits with regard to discounts etc appear to be worth the £25/yr, but I've made sure not to use the automatic renewal option for next year.

  7. Good luck dealing with the rivet counters!

  8. I get the impression that especially here in the South the club isn't really Classic biased.
It's more centred around the latest sports bikes and Multistradas.

It could be that my interest and bikes, being 1990's - @2010, falls after the Classics and before the newer latest high tech stuff, so I'm a bit in no mans land really.

  9. I think there's a few members into classic stuff down in your neck of the woods.
