Dre At Silverstone, 16th - 18th May

Discussion in 'Trackdays & Rider Skills' started by Android853sp, Feb 10, 2023.

  1. With regards to appreciating circuits, i am still the equivalent of boxed wine. So, is my budget. 4 sessions on 4 days. Thats better value for me. Even if after 16 i was still shit.

  2. I have booked this as a treat to myself, I'm hoping it will be dry and I am sure I will learn something from it. CSS would be ok but with noise limits everywhere I'm not sure the Panigale will be allowed with naughty pipes!!

  3. Or three days in Mugello.....

  4. Nowt wrong with Almeria. Great track and great a town too if you venture out. Some fabulous back street tapas bars, restaurants. Mojacar’s a bit all day English breakfasts in comparison. Unless you venture up the hill to the old town. That’s nice… :):upyeah:

  5. So any feedback from anyone that went ? Am curious.

  6. It was great......:cool::eek:

    I saw the bikes going around.......the GP circuit looked about a 1/4 full and there were parts of the day where there was no action on the circuit.

  7. I was there, it was a well organised event with limited numbers attending, however there was a large number of trackway novices climbing aboard V4 Panigale's who where clearly struggling.

    I had opted for Inters as thought Advanced might be a little too much for me, after the first sighting session there where a couple of changes to our group, so session 2 was again sighting laps so the instructor could get a view on the new people. sadly I think this wasted a session for me!!! The Silverstone instructor was very good and apologetic for the situation, the clearly inexperienced guy was picked up by another instructor.

    Sadly a few attendees where less than honest about their ability, I felt watching the advanced drop that a few should have been knocked back, but I guess they had paid the extra to be advanced so stayed put.

    It would be unlikely I would partake again at that cost.....

    Just home from Donington and same again people in inters who should be in Novice group.... people need to be honest with themselves about their ability

  8. It’s tricky for the organisers. There are only so many places per group.
    I went to Jerez a bit back and on the first day I was in the novice group. I’m not particularly quick but I was lapping a minute a lap faster than some people. And I wasn’t fastest in the group!! Definitely dodgy with such speed deltas between riders. Plus it was difficult to get a clean lap on the board and make your case for a group change. Thankfully I was moved up a group the next day.
