1200 DVT Dropped It Today ...

  1. I washed my bike on the front patio (concrete) beside my back lawn, from the left side of the bike I lifted it off the sidestand with my left hand by the left grip, kicked the sidestand up with my left foot, I was wearing jandals ( ask @chizel what they are called over there. ), as I kicked the stand my right foot slipped on the wet concrete and the bike slowly tilted away from me, I managed to hold it for about 30 seconds at 45 deg. while screaming for the wife to come and help, then my foot started slipping again and I eased the bike down to the lawn and in the process had to vault the bike and roll across the lawn Commando style just as the missus came out to see what the commotion was, she thought I was trying to impress her with my athleticism, daft twat!!! Once I picked it up and no damage was found I managed to laugh along with her.

  3. I got too close to the back of a lorry (I thought he was pulling to the left to park) when he suddenly started reversing. As I was slightly downhill I couldn't push back with my tip toes, frantic tooting and banging on back of the cab and he stopped.... just in time to tip me over. Luckily I 'almost' held it up and just broke the hand guard. Could have been a lot worse if he had reversed right over me and the bike.

  4. I would always recommend one car length distance from vans & especially lorries! Glad you unharmed twin4me, scary

  5. Yeah, my fault, there was a loading bay on the right, he pulled over to the left and looked like he was waiting for them to open the doors but as I started to go round him he suddenly started reversing really quickly. Could have been a lot worse.

  7. Yup. Been there, done that. Petrol station drop on Fireblade, rode off with disc lock attached on V-rod, also stalled on a U-turn on v-rod resulting in drop. Dropped my Multi on sloping cobbled square in Switzerland and it landed on my brand new AGV Corsa Rossi Fish helmet! Not happy. Thank fuck I never dropped my Triumph Rocket 3! I'd never have got that bastard back up!! :-D

  8. Dropped my 899 edays into ownership, it was pissing down and I was lost, pulled off the main road to check bearings and realised... too late that the road was on a camber, over she went in slow motion! Managed to scratch the brake lever and that was it! Mustered the strength to pick it up and rode off with me tail between my legs.
Had a couple of "moments" with the mutly centre stand more recently but find practice makes for less of a tit:(
