There is no clutch cover supplied with the V4R dry clutch conversion kit so I ordered this. Nice quality and sturdy and if the Spider case protector works out, could be available . Andy
I’ve got the DP half carbon cover on order so running without a cover at the moment while I wait for delivery, I quite like it with no cover at all!
Okay, my V4 dry clutch conversion kit has arrived or should I say most of the kit has arrived. Being one of the first people to order a kit back in February when it hit the catalogue, I’m now one of the first people to discover someone at Ducati forgot that the kit would need to include a V4R style clutch case. So V4/V4S owners with an engine number below ZDM1100W4#009397# be aware, you will need to order part number 243P0041BH as well. The part is not currently in stock but still hoping to have the conversion fitted for the Silverstone Ducati day at the end of July. Andy PS it turns out that the kit does include a clutch cover which is fully enclosed so you can’t see the bling STM workings.
Oddly the kit does include the special one off use bolts that attach the (missing) clutch case to the engine case. Bizarre ! Andy
I have now taken a close look at the STM clutch and learnt 2 things. The slip mechanism (flat) spring supplied in my kit is a 60 not 30 as first thought but the higher the flat spring rate, the later the slip mechanism will kick in so the 50 I bought might still come in handy. The main plate (flat) compression spring with the kit is 140 but talking to the race technician, they run a 100 to lighten the pull on the clutch lever and they haven't seen major wear. Current enquiries seem to indicate the different spring rate main springs (140, 130, 120, 110 and 100) are a Corse part only but I'm still looking. Andy
Her are the Spyder Open Clutch & Generator kits sold by #motorapido. More expensive than the Ducati alternative but looks so much better.
Pick up this morning IMO, not biased at all of course, just the business. Must say thanks to the guys at Moto Rapido, the attention to detail has been fantastic. Andy
