I have loads like this from different circuits, some have been used in local newspapers, most I have printed on A3 and framed.
also use any camera you got and play about with lightroom , this is using a tiny cannot s90 that I take with me on my dirt bike rides
I'd quite like to dabble with HDR but I need to learn to use camera first. Simple things like shutter speeds. I know HDR is not for moving objects. I like some of the pics by Phil, with the steaming street / car lights.. I've seen race car pics like that. Unfortunately I don't know if I will ever race cars again (never got that all wheels in air at Cadwell shot). I still want some decent bike pictures to frame for my wall, a track day... the Ducati static, maybe a couple others.
When you have chosen your file to Upload, there is an option button next to it (before you publish the post) for 'Full Image'. Click that for each pic and viola
I bought my Nikon D50 around 10 years, and still use it. If I remember correctly, I have an 18-50/2.8, fixed 50/1.8 and 55-300/(big numbers here). Now I think it's more down to taking interesting pictures with any equipment you have, than having the best equipment. It's kind of interesting how nice pictures you can get today with even cellphone cameras and a little tweaking. I also bought a Canon S90, small pocket camera with all manual adjustments and RAW, which I now take more often. Anyway, when I bought the camera, I went to a night class just to get some ideas and teach me the basics. I would take pictures that I would normally not do or try. Here's some light painting for example: Since then, I have mostly taken pictures of my cars But now due to this thread, I know I will need to dig out the old camera and take some pics of the bike
Thanks Paul. As you're obviously aware, it's all about light or to be more precise the use of it. So much equipment is so good nowadays you don't need the latest swanky kit to get a great image. Light, patience and an eye for it. IMO.
I will take that as a compliment but alas no it is my bike in Hotel al a Poste garage in Bouillon, Belgium
Those are really awesome pictures, you do have to get it spot on with the timing... Nice work, the colours are reflecting the ambience.
It was cold (-20C), but it was "sunny", so I wanted to try if something could be done. Sorry, it's a car instead of a ducati, but I promise in half a year I will take pictures of the bike around
