Excellent result. Just what we would all hope for I have no doubt the lowish mileage and condition would play a part in their decision. Probably wouldn't get the same result with 30k+ miles. I would also expect (well ok hope) they will be requesting the old one back so they can analyse why its failed.
Interesting question - will check with the dealer if they ask for it back but would surprise me unless this is a more common issue
When mine was changed it took less than two hours. Good to hear another story about supporting your local/dealership & they put in a good word for you. Gaining you a proper helping hand in sorting things out.
Good lads the Hyside boys. Peter or Scott would have sorted that for you. Good to see goodwill isn’t a thing of the past!
yes that was mine, try a search for my name. I had a nick in the wiring. £2000 was the quote I had but got it under warranty (I was still in cover), but they originally said it was rider damage. As I’d just had it serviced I was sure it wasn’t me
I also had a DSS warning (without the big triangle in top left corner though). Turned out i pinched the frt accelerometer cable that was causing it to earth. I highly advise anyone to get the correct cables, download the freeware Melcodiag so that you can read and reset your error codes on your ecu yourself. My error code clearly stated what was wrong and that helped tremendously in fault finding and repair
