Brand new one here including the eccentric, bearings, bolts and the rocker for £1800; forcellone/ magnesio/ Ducati 998/996/916/748 | eBay
Yes, you're right, but the title of the thread is 748 RS Corse project build. I'm sure it will be a great project, but you're not building a 748 RS.
Indeed it is and I'm almost tempted to buy it, except that I don't need it and it wouldn't make any difference to my riding ability anyway. But it is nice...
You could say that about having to choose between a beautiful woman and an ugly woman, but no one would question your choice. Buy it and put it on the mantelpiece where you can enjoy it
Hi jerryxt, I know it won't go ever be a true 100% original 748 Rs but I hope to build as close as possible to spec, using the exotic parts etc, just wanted to use a road registered frame and a more user friendly motor. I want to share the build with all my fellow ducati owners, and the help I've received here already has been great. i hope you continue to follow the build. Frame and motor arriving next week, and will decide to adapt the frame to allow RS air box and bodies.
You know, if I had a really good 748 chassis I would stick a modified 1100 aircooled engine in from a hyper or monster. They make mega track bikes for all but the fastest tracks.
Now you're trying to break me down, but if I had 'paid' for the beautiful woman I'd jolly well be getting some use. Damn, I may have to get it now... but it's £1800 I can't really justify... must fight the urge, I can resist anything but temptation... may have to get that 0% balance transfer after all...
Quick update: the base parts I purchased for my 748 rs project arrived, big thanks to cranker. So now setting them out on the bench, and the frame and wheels are going to be stripped and painted tomorrow so should have them back in a week or so, I'll keep you posted throughout the build!
