749 Ducati 749 Swing Arm Conversion

Discussion in '749 / 999' started by Tiago C., Oct 6, 2014.

  1. The swingarm will arrive at the end of this week or beginning of next.
    I'll keep in touch.

I really wanted it to be plug and play, but I'm not confident on that now...
now I can only wait to see what will come out of here.

    Thanks for your feedback.

  2. Don't think it's going to fit.

  5. Got some news regarding this conversion.

The swingarm is alredy in its place, but, now is hard part...
This exhaust system dosen´t fit this new swingarm, a new one its going to be fabricated.

Some adjustments also needed, as this swingarm is bit longer, it needs more two chain links, glad i have saved the spare links, as this chain is new, its less one thing i need to worry, also the rear brake line has been modified, quick and easy.

As soon as i have news about the exhaust i´ll post some pictures and also the final result and feedback.

  6. Can anyone tell me by looking at the pictures if this full termi 54mm will work on my 749s with the black swingarm?

At the moment its installed asymmetrical exhaust system, was the best and short time consuming, its summer and i want to ride:)
till winter arrive i'm seaking for full exhaust system for this swingarm or maybe do something like the user wrapracer doing at the moment.

  14. Please put some more pictures, maybe i'll do the same this winter...:Woot:
Its looking good! Keep up with great job!:upyeah::upyeah:

  15. Please do that:upyeah::upyeah:

  16. Will do, also I meant to ask my fabricator what grade titanium tubing he ordered. I'm guessing it's type 2 or slightly higher, though I've read that type 1 is the easiest to fabricate.

  17. All finished, though ceramic coating is next. Sorry about the crappy lighting. That is the next thing being updated in my bike room. The new swingarm just clears the exhaust on full extension of the suspension, so no issues there.

  20. 100% agree with you. just an insight. Too many westerners in Thailand are quick to belittle Thai workmanship. This guy does good work on any metal. He repaired my alloy subframe a couple of times until we worked out that it needed more strengthening, so some extra gusseting went in and really strengthened the weak area.
