Yes they are. Nothing wrong with them but they just look like what they are, bent metal. The single fixing means they don't want to sit flush but tape holds them in place. I'll look to modify mine to make them look a little more factory. In general I'm happy but just wish they were more sculpted.
Yeah mate, Diamond Vision ones after seeing a thread about them on here. Diamond Vision H11 5000K Upgrade Headlight Bulbs (Twin Pack Of Bulbs) | eBay
No. It gets its first trial tomorrow!....most seem to prefer the comfort, but I felt like I was sinking into it a little bit too much.
I like it. Just had a quick 60mile blast and it felt good, but I can see why it isn't for everyone. Although the difference in real terms is minimal, I do feel a little bit more up on the bike rather than in it, and I also find that shifting back on the seat when I want to tuck behind the screen is a lot easier because I'm not having to lift myself up out of the seat to move back. I suppose it is just what you are used to, and for 2 of the 3 years I have ridden, it was on a race bike with a near solid seat, so that feels normal to me. The main downside is when you do hit a sharp bump that the suspension cannot deal with, it goes straight to some of your more tender parts. The other thing that I cannot decide if i am imagining, is that more heat seems to come through it from the exhaust?... I'm not sure on that one though...
I know what you mean when you say that you feel more 'on top' of the bike. It put me slightly out of balance at first but then I started riding quite well like it. And it puts my legs in a much better position around the lower tank. It's not ideal on my boney arse though. I did two 80 mile runs on Wednesday and was glad to get off at the end. I might buy a comfort seat as well just as a comparison.
I had a comfort seat and tbh I couldn't tell the difference in 'softness'. I did however have the 'sat on top' feeling which gave me more leg room which I really liked but put more weight on my wrists and my lower back hurt tbh so I went back to the stock 899 seat as many have done. Also I have textile trousers with a suede type crotch section and it used to 'roll' the material of the seat and put wrinkles in it, figured it would destroy the seat quite quickly. I didn't find that standard seat too bad aside from how slippery it was. I was just intersted what the others were like. I may see if I can get the standard seat can covered in a grippier material
