1199 Ducati 899 - 959 - 1199 - 1299 Modifications - What Have You Done To Yours?

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by Rob Jarvis, Jun 30, 2015.

  1. Any decent upholsterer would do it.
The slip sliding in race leathers is a real pain in the standard seat.

I just had the return journey, and I must say I definitely prefer it. The on-top of the bike feeling makes me feel more in charge of the bike. Although I have still been getting used to it, so that is partly psychological. It probably has a lot to do with your height as well. I am 5'9", and maybe if I were a few inches taller the race seat would be too much? It is definitely (for me) better than the standard or comfort though.
Regarding the softness, the race/comfort are actually exactly the same height, so any boost in height it gives is just the lack of compression compared to sinking into the comfort seat.
Also, I have figured the heat "problem". I think it is actually because I'm not sinking into the seat, and therefore more of my leg is exposed to the heat coming up around the side of the seat (and warming up parts of my leg that would have been protected by the seat from it mounding around my leg).... At least, that is my current theory...

  3. Been working on my NRC mirror replacement indicators. I want to make them look a little more 'factory' so I've been making a hybrid NRC / Ducati Performance blanking plate version.

  4. Way too many photos to post up on here but here are a handful of the bike in it's latest incarnation, with the updated graphics (no decals used here). Side fairings and tail section were changed subtlely. Bike has now covered almost 1000 miles in two years. Barely have the time to ride it but making up for lost opportunities this year (having also taken the bike to WDW2016 as well)

  8. It doubles up as a gym as well as space for pushbikes and a Monster 620, so keeping it organised is easier than letting it descend into chaos. I've a workbench and tool chest, fridge and shelving in there as well, so it's not without function. It also makes working on the bikes/pushbikes much more of an enjoyable experience.

I've never enough time to ride as much as I would like to. Shift work, involving late nights, very early starts as well as weekend work, sees to that.

  9. Added an emergency satnav mount last night with cable ties and anti slip stuff as not to mark the alloy....and not wanting to spoil the bike with anything permanent

  11. Got an akrapovic and hanger for a bargain price so was rude not to. Prefer the evotech hanger to the r&g one but I'm not complaining, it still looks a lot better and the pillion pegs weighed a hell of a lot more than I would have guessed

Test run later this morning to see what it's like..

  12. Had one of the throttle spacer kits sitting for a while wondering whether or not to fit it.
Well, I finally fitted it. Good mod.

  15. I'm going to see if I can get a deal on a set of wheels and then that's as far as I'm going with this bike.

  16. Finally got round to fitting my parts I had hydro dipped this weekend, looks amazing at a fraction of the price of real carbon IMAG1215.jpg

  17. Rob wanted £7.5k.. I put my mate on to it, a genuine buyer and would have bought it unseen and sent a deposit there and then. Not sure why but the price is now £8.5k! Oh well

  19. I was looking into Rob's bike also, he raised the price due to having to pay salvage and transport to get the bike back. He also mentioned £7.5k initially to me and raised the price to £8.5k. Still not a bad deal.

  20. How many bikes does that lad write off a year?
