1199 Ducati 899 - 959 - 1199 - 1299 Modifications - What Have You Done To Yours?

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by Rob Jarvis, Jun 30, 2015.

  1. That should look epic. I took the less labour intensive option. The new one is just back from being wrapped. I went for the darker (titanium) wrap this time because you can see the grain a little better than the Alu one I had on the 1299.

  2. That looks bloody good that!

I sometimes question these big ideas I have when something like that that can be achieved so simply. I spose it keeps me out the house tho....

How the rest of it coming along?

  3. Ultimately yours will be better, and you’ll get the satisfaction of doing it yourself!

The mechanicals of the bike are back together now. Put the seat/rear fairing on, but leaving the pain in the behind nose for another day! Just the side panels and progrips to go on after that.....

And got all my panels back, the bike will have a look of an R but with a few little SL details like matte carbon edged rear panels. The only green will now be on the tricolour on the matte black belly.

  14. Paint jobs looks good. Some nice Marchesini wheels too. Ali or Magnesium?

  15. Thanks gents.

The bike is a Final Edition so has the standard Akra road system.

The wheels are Ali, saving my pennies for the race system when it eventually gets released...

  16. Thanks

  17. Great paintwork, may i ask for the painter details and costs you paid?
Was the rear panel carbon or they just made it looks like (sorry not sure what was the fairings you started with)?
Are the wheels lighter then oem?

  18. I used image design custom, that are very good but not the cheapest as everything is air brushed, no decals for anything including all logos and 1299 logos.

The rear panels are all carbon. They Masked the carbon edge, painted and glossed the colour, then matted the carbon edge for the gloss and matt mix.

I’ve avoided weighing wheels as I’m not chasing the savings, the bike is already more than I’ll ever appreciate.
