  2. That’s my other project. It was in real rough shape when I got it. This is the opposite of the 998R, the Vespa is a bit of a mutt. It has a P200E motor that has been bored, ported and polished. Really rips now

I sold most everything. Still have a few things laying around that I am going to sell. I didn’t want things just sitting around and they were all so valuable… figured I would sell them and net some profits over what OEM parts I had to buy.

  3. P200E is a decent motor. P200E's mark the end of my interest in Vespas, anything later than a P200 is meh. Esp the PX, yuk. I had a Malossi 210 ported, polished etc on a P200 vespa chop I owned in ....jeez...1988? Damned reliable too. Unlike my Lambretta's which would break down from anxiety if you looked at it funny.

Oh and the 998R project is spot on. Nice job.

  4. Great job you've done there, I normally get bored with these dragged out resto posts......but this one had me hooked, enjoy that bike!! :D

  5. What a lovely rebuild. True to the original and a credit to you for all the hard work. I genuinely admire your attention to detail. If I have one (and it is minor) observation, I would have used a small aluminium or wooden spatula to straighten out the bent fins on the oil cooler and rad and probably lobbed a couple of stone guards on there). Saying that it does not detract from what is a very beautiful bike. Congrats

  6. Thanks! I’ll be addressing those this coming winter

  7. Another question if anyone can help. Does anyone know where I can get replacement frame stickers made? Some are no longer available through Ducati.

  9. Here are some pictures of the carbon restoration. First few you can see how he started with spraying filler clear and filling the pin holes in the OEM resin. Then the final product with the UV clear.

  15. I like the carbon to be a bit faded. After all it’s a machine from ‘02.

  16. Pure bike porn, job job well done. Brilliant.

  17. Lovely work!
Who did the wheels and frame and can you share the colour code please?

  18. A local powder coater did them for me. I bought about 500 sample chips from different manufacturers and this one was pretty much spot on:

He did have to work a bit of magic to give it a shine since the base powder is satin finish.
