Dont understand this... the 998s engine is the same as a 996R engine. So i was told by the dealer. They make the same horsepower.. its also used in the early 999s bikes all have the 998cc. The 998R has the first 999cc engine as in the later 999s bikes.
We were talking 998R now but as far as I am aware the FE was not a 996R engine - but I am only remembering from a while ago that the FE's were 999S spec, not done the research though
I looked it up prisewise.. conecting rods and camshafts are exactly the same price. 996R , 998sFe , 998s and early 999s are same engine . I am pretty sure about that.
Yes that is treu. My 998s had a sandcasted carter. That was a 2002 bike. The later models didnt have the sandcasted anymore.. but the engine is the same
