I mentally get an image of duke sitting there nodding knowingly muttering "Awww yeah" every time pixie posts!
I know that in ukmoc, getting any merchandise or logos has to be passed by Ducati, things have to be certain sized and what not, I don't think they put anything actually into the club or running of it. But joining has certain members privileges like discounted tickets for WDW and the like This is more of a 'forum' I guess than a club? But I could be wrong lol
why would you want to, the ducati owners club forum has so little usage that people choose to ignore it, the ducati sporting club has a "colourful" history and the ducati owners club has outright abuse slung at various memebrs from time to time
docgb is all on facebook these days who mentioned the ducati sparring club? stones for sale round one flat ones Steve b nobody to throw any stones until l blow this whistle:smile:
That's it. A very good friend of mine runs a big italian forum for multistrada owners, it's read by ducati marketing itself, and they would it become official, we organize a lot of tour and meeting around Italy every year, but as you pointed out become "official" came to price you must stick to their rules....
DUK read this forum, and all the other club forums as well. The topic of "unregulated" forums has come up in the presidents meeting a couple of times with the likes of Ducatisti, but that killed itself off. Any feedback is valuable to them (or any company who has a marketing strategy) as it provides the information they need to do things right. If it's good feedback they know someone is doing something right, and they can encourage that dealer to keep doing it. If it's negative feedback then they know something is wrong and can get those issues sorted out. The affiliation rules for 2013 have changed again, but us UK clubs are somewhat under threat at the moment so we will see what happens next year.
It has little to do with "dealers" AFAIK. PLus there needs to be a "club" element to it. Forums have little staying power..........one man and his dog do not a consensus make. As mentioned "ducatisti" (or dan) killed "itself" off. Therefore they have little status and/or value. Ducati Bologna and also DUK need to see value added to the brand not just those seeking freebies, as here. Why are UK clubs "under threat" anyway?
Uk clubs are under threat because of the general apathy of members more than anything else, most of these clubs have not reinvented themselves are are under competition from amongst other things internet forums. A prize example of this apathy was the local ducati club, it failed because members who could not be bothered to support the local meet through winter because their ducati social needs/interaction were met through various internet forums
The last time I looked DOCGB had got an awful website and the people that run the club appear to be more interested in themselves than other owners. ...........which might be a way of saying 'up their own a**e'.... AL.
