I think he needs legal advice tbf, there's always a loop hole - and if he can still use his web site url as a forwarder he needs telling as his web site is down.
So, legally he can just change his name and have 'formally Ducati John' emblazoned across the top of his web site followed by an explanation why he had to change that way it shows for all time the pettiness of it all.
Anyone know if it was his local dealer who wrote to him or Ducati / VAG?

I’d need a lot more information than what I’ve read here or on the DOCGB FB site.

 

I know there is another independent not too far from John, which has ducati in the name rather than a name then description as a independent ducati specialist.

I wonder if it is a john thing, i.e. local complaint or whether it is ducati U.K. change of heart

 

I don’t know the guy but here’s what I’d do, maybe someone who knows him can forward it on.

Fortunately he has an unusual surname and the domain name johncellier.com is available . He should register that ASAP before some bstad nabs it, then put a forwarder on his current url so it points to the new domain name/url and put a forwarder on the new url so it points to wherever his website is hosted. It’ll take 48hrs Max to update all DNS servers around the world. His website will then be publicly available again by Monday.

There’s no point spending money on legal fees to fight VAG.
