Yet a further example of corporate bullying. Add “Duati” to your first name by deed poll, John. I’d like to see the misguided idiots at Ducati corporate try to stop Ducati John from using it as a trading name when it’s his legal name. Most traders ignore these solicitors’ letters and treat them with the contempt they deserve. Alternatively, a short additional statement on his website should suffice - highlighting that his business has no link to Ducati, nor their clearly inflated and misguided level of brand self-importance . Imbecilic behaviour from Ducati. A further classic case of alienating a large portion of your customer base.
I doubt that Ducati would want to be associated with some of the adverts that appear on the forum either. I remember the DSC having to be run in way that the finances were regulated, in regards to fees/contributions etc. I am sure @antonye, @andyb or @Dibble can remember that far back
Way before my time, but it's all above board now! Can't get away with anything these days, you even have to pay your own membership fee!
Duke John get my vote. One of the only Desmo techs I’d take advice from especially the crap I’ve been told over the years from the so called “gained at very high expense to the shop” factory trained techs eg you need a complete rear wheel hub for your 1098 as bearings gone with resulting play. Phoned John - have you checked your rear wheel sprocket nut ? Was totally loose and would have fallen off if not for the security clip. Saved my life and a £600 bill plus labour and put it this way I’d never worked on my own bike then.
Take the name D U C A T I And insert J O H N into the gaps: DJ UOCHANTI Mix it with colour and you have Ducati John DJ UOCHANTI It's a little bit groovy, but a little bit shit too
Yes, I thought U o chanti was Italian for U R a Cunt and the DJ bit finished it off well but not good for a business perhaps, there's something there though, just haven't seen it yet it was close
Fuck me that's as blatant a lie we will see anywhere in here and you should be ashamed, I suspected your 2 faced nature when we last crossed paths at the NEC when you gave me the 'its all changed give it another go Dibs' speech before letting slip you still had CB on side. Maybe you should run for Tory leader.
Www.johnsducatiservicing.co.uk is available for a very small fee, it retains his name and describes what he does. Am I missing something more from this? I mean his name is John, he services Ducatis which he's legally allowed to do, so why not just state what you do and what your name is?
I think there is a degree of reading between the lines here, the most successful/most noticeable of "the bunch" gets targeted first maybe.
Apologies i may not have been clear. What i mean is i understand calling your business 'Ducati John' could be implied that you are in-fact John from Ducati, or Ducati's John (unlikely they have a John but even so) But by making a statement of what you do for a business, e.g. "Johns Ducati Servicing Ltd", then surely that keeps things as close to the previous trading name, doesn't imply you are actually Ducati, or their star employee John, and allows him to carry on trading without much confusion for his current or future customers? Ducati own the brand name yes, but can they really stop you, i or anyone using the word 'Ducati' as a description of what you do, like or otherwise? So, he could simply grab the url's: johnsducatiservicing.co.uk/com Iserviceducatis.co.uk/com mynamesjohnandiserviceducatis.co.uk/com themechanicformallyknownasducatijohnbutnowijustservicethebloodythings.co.uk/com Is it not that simple?
